Description The issue is related to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the AJAX module. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified vectors when the wgUseAjax option is enabled.

Recommendations For MediaWiki versions prior to 1.6.9, update to version 1.6.9 or later. For MediaWiki versions 1.7 prior to 1.7.2, update to version 1.7.2 or later. For MediaWiki versions 1.8 prior to 1.8.3, update to version 1.8.3 or later. For MediaWiki versions 1.9 prior to 1.9.0rc2, update to version 1.9.0rc2 or later. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the wgUseAjax option until a patch is available.
