Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: INDEXU versions 5.3 and earlier
Description: The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via various parameters to different PHP files, including suggest category.php, user detail.php, tell friend.php, sendmail.php, send pwd.php, search.php, register.php, power search.php, new.php, modify.php, login.php, mailing list.php, and upgrade.php. The affected parameters include error msg, u, friend name, friend email, my name, my email, id, email, name, subject, username, keyword, password, password2, url, contact name, path, total, query, and gateway.
Recommendations: For INDEXU versions 5.3 and earlier, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the affected PHP files until a patch is available. Avoid using the vulnerable parameters in the respective API endpoints until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
