Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Bloodshed Dev-C++ version 4.9.9.2
Description
The issue is a stack-based buffer overflow that can be triggered by a long line in a .cpp file, allowing user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to application crash, and possibly execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Bloodshed Dev-C++ version 4.9.9.2, consider avoiding the use of long lines in .cpp files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the processing of .cpp files with long lines to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
