| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
xterm on Slackware Linux version 10.2
Description:
The issue allows local users to potentially bypass file permissions and read other users' files or obtain sensitive information by reading the xterm process memory, which stores information displayed for different user accounts using the same xterm process.
Recommendations:
For xterm on Slackware Linux version 10.2, consider running xterm processes under separate user accounts to prevent information sharing between users. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to sensitive files and information to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
