CVE-2007-0886
CVSS v2.0
10
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Axigen versions 1.2.6 through 2.0.0b1
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially leading to application crashes, and may also enable the execution of arbitrary code. This is achieved by sending certain base64-encoded data on the pop3 port (110/tcp), which triggers an integer overflow.
Recommendations:
For Axigen versions 1.2.6 through 2.0.0b1, consider restricting access to the pop3 port (110/tcp) until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using base64-encoded data on the pop3 port to minimize the risk of exploitation.
