| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Clam AntiVirus ClamAV versions prior to 0.90
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in file descriptor consumption and failed scans. This occurs when processing CAB archives with a cabinet header record length of zero, which causes a function to return without closing a file descriptor.
Recommendations:
For Clam AntiVirus ClamAV versions prior to 0.90, update to version 0.90 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the processing of CAB archives to minimize the risk of exploitation.
Fix
