| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cisco Firewall Services Module (FWSM) versions 3.x before 3.1(3.3)
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a device reboot. This occurs when the device is set to log at the "debug" level and receives packets that are not of a particular protocol, such as TCP or UDP. The reboot is triggered during the generation of a specific Syslog message.
Recommendations:
For Cisco Firewall Services Module (FWSM) versions 3.x before 3.1(3.3), update to version 3.1(3.3) or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the "debug" log level to minimize the risk of exploitation.
