Description
The issue is related to multiple stack-based buffer overflows in the SonicDVDDashVRNav.dll component of Roxio CinePlayer. This can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The exploitation can occur through long property values to SonicMediaPlayer.dll or long arguments to unspecified methods in SonicMediaPlayer.dll.
Recommendations
For Roxio CinePlayer version 3.2, consider disabling the SonicDVDDashVRNav.dll component as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the SonicMediaPlayer.dll to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using long property values or arguments to methods in SonicMediaPlayer.dll until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
