| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6
Description:
The issue is related to a remote code execution problem due to improper handling of a Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) tag, which triggers memory corruption. This could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by constructing a specially crafted Web page. If successfully exploited, the attacker could take complete control of an affected system.
Recommendations:
For Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6, update to a newer version to mitigate the risk. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to Web pages that could potentially exploit this issue until a patch is available. Avoid viewing untrusted Web pages to minimize the risk of exploitation.
