CVE-2007-1921
CVSS v2.0
9.3
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Winamp version 5.33
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted .MAT file that contains a value used as an offset, triggering memory corruption. This can occur when the LIBSNDFILE.DLL is used, such as in AOL Nullsoft Winamp 5.33 and possibly other products.
Recommendations:
For Winamp version 5.33, consider avoiding the use of LIBSNDFILE.DLL until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the opening of .MAT files in Winamp to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
