CVE-2007-2243

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenSSH versions 4.6 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to determine the existence of user accounts by attempting to authenticate via S/KEY. This is because S/KEY displays a different response if the user account exists.
Recommendations For OpenSSH versions 4.6 and earlier, consider disabling ChallengeResponseAuthentication to prevent exploitation. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to S/KEY authentication until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
