CVSS v2.0
7.8
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Sun-Brocade SilkWorm switches versions prior to 20070516
Description
The issue arises from the embedded Linux kernel's improper handling of a situation where a non-root user creates a kernel process. This allows attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an "oops" and device reboot, via unspecified vectors.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 20070516, consider updating to a version released after 20070516 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, restrict non-root user access to kernel process creation to minimize the risk of exploitation.
