CVE-2007-3142
CVSS v2.0
5.8
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Opera version 9.21
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to spoof the address bar and possibly conduct phishing attacks via a long hostname, which is truncated after 34 characters. This can be demonstrated by a phishing attack using HTTP Basic Authentication.
Recommendations:
For Opera version 9.21, consider updating to a newer version to mitigate the risk of address bar spoofing and phishing attacks. As a temporary workaround, users should be cautious of suspicious URLs and verify the authenticity of websites before entering sensitive information.
