6.8

| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Firebird version 2.0.0
Description
The issue is related to an integer overflow that allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption, through certain database operations. This is triggered by the use of multi-byte character sets, which can cause an attempt to use the value 65536 for a 16-bit integer. Since 65536 is treated as 0, it leads to an infinite loop when processing zero-length data.
Recommendations
For Firebird version 2.0.0, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
