Description:
The issue allows remote servers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a long message with multibyte characters. This can produce an invalid UTF-8 string after it is truncated, triggering an uncaught exception. The
truncate message function in server/server.cpp is involved. Both clients and servers are affected.Recommendations:
For Wesnoth versions 1.2.x through 1.2.6, update to version 1.2.7 or later.
For Wesnoth versions 1.3.x through 1.3.8, update to version 1.3.9 or later.
