| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
UCC dedicated server for the Unreal engine versions 2003 and 2004
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a continuous beep and server slowdown. This can be achieved by sending a string containing many 0x07 characters in various requests, including a request to the "images/" directory, the Content-Type field, a HEAD request, and possibly other unspecified vectors.
Recommendations
For versions 2003 and 2004, consider restricting access to the "images/" directory and limiting the input allowed in the Content-Type field to prevent the denial of service. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of HEAD requests that contain the malicious string until a more permanent solution is available.
