Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Quiksoft EasyMail SMTP Object version 6.0.1
Description
The issue is a buffer overflow in the EasyMailSMTPObj ActiveX control, which can be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by passing a long argument to the
SubmitToExpress method.Recommendations
For version 6.0.1, consider updating to a newer version, as this issue may have been fixed in version 6.0.3.15. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the
SubmitToExpress method until a patch is available.Exploit
