| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Apple Mac OS X versions 10.3.9 through 10.4.10
Description:
The issue allows attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system crash, by utilizing a crafted striped disk image. This image triggers a NULL pointer dereference when it is mounted.
Recommendations:
For Apple Mac OS X versions 10.3.9 through 10.4.10, avoid mounting crafted striped disk images to prevent the denial of service. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the AppleRAID component until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
