CVE-2007-4897

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: pwlib versions 2.0.5 and possibly other versions Ekiga version 2.0.5
Description: The issue is related to a memory management flaw, allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash. This can be achieved by providing a long argument to the PString::vsprintf function.
Recommendations: For pwlib version 2.0.5, consider applying a patch to fix the memory management flaw in the PString::vsprintf function. For Ekiga version 2.0.5, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting the input length to the PString::vsprintf function to prevent the denial of service.
