CVSS v2.0
6.4
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Ultra Crypto Component versions 2.0 and earlier
Description:
The issue concerns an absolute path traversal vulnerability in a certain ActiveX control in CryptoX.dll. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to write to arbitrary files by providing a full pathname in the argument to the
SaveToFile method.Recommendations:
For versions 2.0 and earlier, consider restricting access to the
SaveToFile method until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the SaveToFile method with untrusted input to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
