CVSS v2.0

2.1

Low

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Ghost Security Suite beta version 1.110
Description The issue is related to the improper validation of certain parameters to System Service Descriptor Table (SSDT) function handlers. This can be exploited by local users to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly gain privileges. The affected kernel SSDT hooks include NtCreateKey, NtDeleteValueKey, NtQueryValueKey, NtSetSystemInformation, and NtSetValueKey.
Recommendations For Ghost Security Suite beta version 1.110, consider restricting access to the SSDT function handlers until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, disabling the vulnerable SSDT hooks may help minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
