CVE-2007-5253
CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Cart32 versions prior to 6.4
Description:
The issue allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via the
ImageName parameter in a "GetImage" action. This can be achieved by appending a NULL byte (%00) sequence followed by an image file extension. For example, a request for a ".txt%00.gif" file could potentially exploit this issue.Recommendations:
For versions prior to 6.4, consider restricting access to the
GetImage action or validating the ImageName parameter to prevent appending a NULL byte sequence and an image file extension. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the ImageName parameter until a patch is available.Exploit
