Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system panic. This is achieved by sending a beacon frame with a large length value in the xrates element, which triggers an assertion error. The error is related to the net80211/ieee80211 scan ap.c and net80211/ieee80211 scan sta.c files.

Recommendations: For Madwifi versions 0.9.3.2 and earlier, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
