CVSS v2.0
5.0
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:N/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
shttp versions prior to 0.0.5
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to conduct directory traversal attacks and read files via a combination of ".." and sub-directory specifiers that resolve to a pathname that is at or below the same level as the web document root, but in a different part of the directory tree. This is due to a problem in the
safe path function.Recommendations
For versions prior to 0.0.5, update to version 0.0.5 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to sensitive files and directories to minimize the risk of exploitation.
