| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Audacity version 1.3.2
Description
The issue allows local users to cause a denial of service, specifically a recording deadlock, by creating a temporary directory with a predictable name before Audacity is run. This can be further exploited to delete arbitrary files or directories via a symlink attack.
Recommendations
For Audacity version 1.3.2, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue, as the current version allows for a denial of service and potential file deletion via symlink attack. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
