Description
A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists, potentially allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a certain .mp4 file when used with the 3ivx 4.5.1 or 5.0.1 codec.
Recommendations
For Media Player Classic (MPC) version 6.4.9, consider avoiding the use of the 3ivx 4.5.1 or 5.0.1 codec until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the playback of .mp4 files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
