Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow in the glibtop get proc map s function, which can be triggered by a process with a long filename mapped in its address space. This can cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly allow the execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability can be exploited locally and may lead to a violation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations For libgtop versions prior to 2.14.6, update to version 2.14.6 or later to resolve the issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for libgtop2.
