CVE-2008-0073

CVSS v2.0

6.8

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions xine-lib version 1.1.10.1
Description The issue is related to an array index error in the sdpplin parse function, located in input/libreal/sdpplin.c. This error allows remote RTSP servers to execute arbitrary code via a large streamid SDP parameter. The vulnerability is also associated with errors in number processing, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For xine-lib version 1.1.10.1, consider disabling the sdpplin parse function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to RTSP servers to minimize the risk of remote code execution. Avoid using large streamid SDP parameters in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
