| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
VideoLAN VLC media player versions prior to a fixed version
Description
The issue is related to multiple integer overflows in the TY demux plugin of the VideoLAN VLC media player. This could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code by using a specially crafted .ty file.
Recommendations
For versions prior to the fixed version, consider disabling the TY demux plugin until a patch is available. Restrict access to files with the .ty extension to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
