Description
The issue is related to the dio subsystem in the Linux kernel, where the dio struct is not properly zeroed out in the fs/direct-io.c file. This can be exploited by local users to cause a denial of service, resulting in an OOPS. The issue has been demonstrated using a certain fio test.
Recommendations
For Linux kernel versions prior to 2.6.23, update to version 2.6.23 or later to resolve the issue.
