CVSS v2.0
4.3
Medium
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WordPress versions 2.0.9 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML. This can be achieved via the
popuptitle parameter to API endpoints such as "/wp-admin/post.php" or "/wp-admin/page-new.php".Recommendations
For WordPress versions 2.0.9 and earlier, consider updating to a newer version to mitigate the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, restrict access to the vulnerable API endpoints "/wp-admin/post.php" and "/wp-admin/page-new.php" to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the
popuptitle parameter in the affected API endpoints until the issue is resolved.Exploit
