CVE-2008-0550

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Steamcast versions 0.9.75 and earlier
Description The issue is caused by an off-by-one error that leads to a buffer overflow when a certain HTTP request is made, potentially allowing remote attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code. This can be triggered by a long User-Agent header.
Recommendations For Steamcast versions 0.9.75 and earlier, consider restricting access to the HTTP endpoint that processes the User-Agent header until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using long User-Agent headers to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
