CVE-2008-0608

CVSS v2.0

5.0

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions IPSwitch WS FTP version 6.1 with The Logging Server (ftplogsrv.exe) versions 7.9.14.0 and earlier
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a loss of responsiveness. This is achieved by sending a large number of large packets to port 5151/udp, which causes the listening socket to terminate and prevents log commands from being recorded.
Recommendations For IPSwitch WS FTP version 6.1 with The Logging Server (ftplogsrv.exe) versions 7.9.14.0 and earlier, consider restricting access to port 5151/udp to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limiting the size and number of packets accepted by the logging server may help mitigate the issue until a fix is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
