Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Intermate WinIPDS version 3.3 G52-33-021
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically CPU consumption, by sending short packets on TCP port 5001. The packets that can trigger this issue have types 3, 5, 7, 13, 14, or 15.
Recommendations
For Intermate WinIPDS version 3.3 G52-33-021, consider restricting access to TCP port 5001 to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, limiting the handling of packet types 3, 5, 7, 13, 14, and 15 on this port may help mitigate the issue until a more permanent solution is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
