CVE-2008-1052

CVSS v2.0

6.4

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions NetWin SurgeFTP versions 2.3a2 and earlier
Description The issue concerns the administration web interface, where remote attackers can cause a denial of service by sending a large integer in the Content-Length HTTP header. This triggers a NULL pointer dereference when memory allocation fails, leading to a daemon crash.
Recommendations For NetWin SurgeFTP versions 2.3a2 and earlier, consider restricting access to the administration web interface until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, limit the allowed range of values for the Content-Length HTTP header to prevent large integers from being processed.
