Description
A stack-based buffer overflow issue exists in the way GDI handles filename parameters in EMF files, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted EMF image file. This could enable an attacker to take complete control of an affected system, potentially leading to the installation of programs, viewing, changing, or deleting data, or creating new accounts.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, Vista, and Server 2008, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
