Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the regular expression handler, which can be triggered by a crafted LDAP query. This can cause a denial of service, leading to a crash of the slapd service, and potentially allow the execution of arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Red Hat Directory Server version 7.1, apply Service Pack 6 or later to resolve the issue.
For Red Hat Directory Server version 8.0, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
