Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a device reload, via a port scan against TCP port 443 on the device. Multiple vulnerabilities exist in the Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances and Cisco PIX Security Appliances.
Recommendations
For versions 7.2.x through 7.2(3)1, update to version 7.2(3)2 or later to resolve the issue.
For versions 8.0.x through 8.0(2)16, update to version 8.0(2)17 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to TCP port 443 on the device until a patch is available.
