Description:
The issue is related to a double free condition in the Windows kernel, allowing local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. This could enable an attacker to run code with elevated privileges, execute arbitrary code, and take complete control of an affected system. The attacker could then install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations:
For Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and SP3, Server 2003 SP1 and SP2, Vista Gold and SP1, and Server 2008, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
