CVE-2008-2939

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Apache versions prior to 2.0.64 Apache versions prior to 2.2.10
Description A cross-site scripting (XSS) issue exists due to a flaw in handling wildcards in FTP URLs with the mod proxy ftp module. This allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a wildcard in the last directory component in the pathname in an FTP URI, potentially leading to XSS attacks when mod proxy ftp is enabled for FTP-over-HTTP support.
Recommendations For Apache versions prior to 2.0.64, update to version 2.0.64 or later to resolve the issue. For Apache versions prior to 2.2.10, update to version 2.2.10 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the mod proxy ftp module until a patch is available.
