CVE-2008-3409
CVSS v2.0
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:P/I:P/A:P |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Unreal Tournament 3 versions 1.3beta4 and earlier
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption and daemon crash, or possibly execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by sending a UDP packet with a large value in a certain size field, followed by a data string of that size.
Recommendations
For Unreal Tournament 3 versions 1.3beta4 and earlier, consider restricting access to the UDP protocol until a patch is available to prevent potential exploitation. As a temporary workaround, disabling the handling of large UDP packets may help minimize the risk of denial of service or code execution.
