CVSS v2.0
9.3
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
NetBSD versions 3.0 through 4.0
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a system crash, by sending a crafted PPPoE packet. This occurs because the length of a PPPoE packet tag is not properly checked when a pppoe instance exists.
Recommendations
For NetBSD versions 3.0 through 4.0, consider disabling the PPPoE functionality until a proper fix is applied to prevent the system crash.
