CVE-2008-4096
CVSS v2.0
8.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:M/Au:S/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
phpMyAdmin versions prior to 2.11.9.1
Description
The issue allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by sending a request to the "server databases.php" endpoint with a
sort by parameter that contains PHP sequences. These sequences are then processed by the create function function, enabling the execution of arbitrary code.Recommendations
For versions prior to 2.11.9.1, update to version 2.11.9.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "server databases.php" endpoint or disabling the
create function function until a patch is applied. Avoid using the sort by parameter in the affected endpoint until the issue is resolved.Exploit
