Description
The issue allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitrary memory and execute arbitrary code via an XSPF playlist file with a negative identifier tag, which passes a signed comparison. This can be exploited by using a specially crafted XSPF playlist file.
Recommendations
For VLC media player version 0.9.2, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue, as the current version allows for arbitrary code execution via a crafted XSPF playlist file.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
