| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Xen version 3.2.1
Description
The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/args temporary file. This is related to the qemu-dm.debug functionality.
Recommendations
For Xen version 3.2.1, consider restricting access to the qemu-dm.debug functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the /tmp/args temporary file until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
