Description The issue allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via the query string parameter, due to the incomplete removal of quote characters by awstats.pl. This problem exists because of an incomplete fix for a previous issue.

Recommendations For AWStats versions 6.8 and earlier, update to a version that properly removes quote characters to prevent cross-site scripting attacks. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the query string parameter until a patch is available.
