Description The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/spell-check-debug.log, /tmp/spell-check-before, or /tmp/spell-check-after temporary file. This is possible due to a flaw in the spell-check-logic.cgi component.

Recommendations For Moodle versions 1.6 through 1.6.8, update to version 1.6.9 or later. For Moodle versions 1.7 through 1.7.6, update to version 1.7.7 or later.
