CVE-2008-5375
CVSS v2.0
6.9
Medium
| Vector | AV:L/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
cmus version 2.2.0
Description
The issue allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the /tmp/cmus-status temporary file. This is related to the cmus-status-display functionality in cmus.
Recommendations
For cmus version 2.2.0, consider restricting access to the /tmp/cmus-status temporary file to prevent symlink attacks until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the cmus-status-display functionality in cmus version 2.2.0.
