CVE-2009-0200

CVSS v2.0

9.3

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenOffice.org versions prior to 3.1.1 StarOffice/StarSuite versions 7, 8, and 9
Description The issue is related to an integer underflow in the processing of Word documents, which could allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted records in the document table, leading to a heap-based buffer overflow. This might also enable attackers to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For OpenOffice.org versions prior to 3.1.1, update to version 3.1.1 or later to resolve the issue. For StarOffice/StarSuite versions 7, 8, and 9, consider applying security patches or updates if available, or restrict the use of Word documents from untrusted sources until a fix is available.
