CVE-2008-6097

CVSS v2.0

4.3

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:P/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WikyBlog versions prior to 1.7.1
Description The issue allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML, potentially leading to cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. This can be achieved through various parameters and endpoints, including the key parameter to "index.php/Special/Main/keywordSearch", the revNum parameter to "index.php/Edit/Main/Home", the to parameter to "index.php/Special/Main/WhatLinksHere", the user parameter to "index.php/Special/Main/UserEdits", and the PATH INFO to "index.php".
Recommendations For WikyBlog versions prior to 1.7.1, update to version 1.7.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the affected API endpoints until the update is applied. Avoid using the vulnerable parameters key, revNum, to, and user in the respective endpoints until the issue is resolved.
